Have you ever seen a cartoon where someone sneezed, and the result was they sneezed off all their hair? It is worth a laugh. I walked outside one recent day and saw that, due to a hard frost, one of my trees had lost al-most all of its leaves in one night. It was as if the tree had sneezed and all the leaves collapsed around it like one of those silly cartoons. I pondered if I should look at the tree again and say, "God bless you!"
Does God bless the trees? Of course God does.
What Else Does God Bless
God blesses the trees that they may grow, providing shade, fruit, and oxygen for many creatures, including us. For some creatures the tree even provides a home. (And of course, most of our homes are made of wood as well.)
God blesses the trees, the streams, the stars, the animals that crawl, fly, and swim….and God blesses us.
We too are made to be shared with others. While the tree provides shade, we may provide shelter. While the tree provides fruit, we provide nurturing care. While the tree provides fresh air, we can help provide a fresh start.
God blesses the trees, that they may be blessings to us. God blesses us, that we may be bless-ings to others.
Blessed to be a blessing.
